OUR TRAINERS

Alan King, Trainer Ferdy Murphy

Ferdy has been in racing most of his working life, starting with for Phonsie O'Brien in Co Tipperary and then with Paddy Mullins. He was stable jockey for Mr Mullins holding that post for five years. He was later to become private trainer for Bill Durkan teaming up with the brilliant mare Anaglogs Daughter. In March 1980, Ferdy had a winning ride on the mare at Chepstow just three days after training her to win the Arkle Chase at Cheltenham

On moving to England he became Geoff Hubbard's private trainer at Worlingworth Hall. More success followed with two highlights being Sibton Abbey (1992 Hennessey) and Gee-A (1992 Foxhunters at Aintree).

Ferdy has been based at Wynbury Stables in West Witton, near Leyburn, North Yorkshire since 2000. This is a very tranquil yard so it's no surprise that from there he has enjoyed frequent big race success with the likes of Joe's Edge, L'antartique, Hot Weld, New Alco, Paddy's Return, French Holly, Kalahari King & Divers to name just a few.

Let's Live Racing are delighted to have Ferdy working with us as we're sure he'll prove highly successful.
